Wednesday Copenhagen Film Fund – in collaboration with the American ambassador and Copenhagen TV-Festival – repeated last year’s success and hosted an open-air picnic at the ambassador Rufus Gifford’s residence in Rydhaven to mark the opening of Copenhagen TV Festival. This year the guest of honour was “Homeland”-creator Howard Gordon.

Unfortunately there was a smaller incident when the big screen flipped over. For precautionary reasons two guests were brought to the hospital. Luckily, they are both fine and have left the hospital.

Besides the ‘unplanned special effect´ 700 guests enjoyed a beautiful evening in the company of one of American TV’s top dogs, Howard Gordon, who has also been involved in major productions such as “24” and “The X-Files”. Howard Gordon introduced a screening of a Homeland-episode from season four plus a promo on season five, which is currently shooting in Berlin.

In addition to attending Opening Night the creator of “Homeland” will also be hosting a master class at Tivoli Congress Center today, where he will elaborate on the extensive research that preceded the series. And as an exclusive extra event Copenhagen Film Fund has arranged a seminar at the Danish Film School with Howard Gordon.

For this event the fund has invited a selected group of people from the film and TV industry, with the intention of making it a yearly tradition and thereby creating a platform for exchange between great foreign an national film talent.
