“LISTEN” heading for the Oscars for Best Short

The Danish-Finnish short film “Listen” has already been screened at more than 100 festivals around the world, won 20 awards and is now nominated for an European Film Academy Award. The film is one of four short films, which came out of the Fund’s investment in the international collaboration-project “Nordic Factory”.
The project brought eight directors together in a unique, international collaboration, developing four short films together in teams of two – two Danish, two Finnish and four directors from Argentina, Zambia, France and Kyrgystan.

So far the film has met the criteria for an Oscar-nomination and we’re crossing our fingers hoping it’ll go all the way. It really deserves it!

“Listen” is set in Copenhagen and is about an Arab speaking woman who goes to a police station with her son to file a complaint. Yet it seems the translator is not willing to report what she is truly saying.
