In providing investment for “The Bridge III”, the Copenhagen Film Fund is helping to ensure that Season 3 of the Danish-Swedish hit series will be more Danish than ever. A larger Danish crew than before has been signed for the shoot – one of the Copenhagen Film Fund’s prime areas of focus.

The CEO of the Fund, Thomas Gammeltoft, says:

–       We are happy to be able to contribute to progressing a Series that is so well-regarded and so universal in its appeal that it works in all markets. The previous seasons sold to an astounding 150 countries. There have already been American/Mexican and French/English remakes, a feat unique in the history of Danish TV.  We are also proud that production of the Series will now be even more Danish than in Seasons 1 & 2, thereby securing even more Danish jobs. It is bound to be a fantastic Season, and we are happy to be on board.

”The Bridge III” is expected to premiere simultaneously in the five Nordic countries in late 2015.  The Swedish company Filmlance International and Denmark’s Nimbus Film are behind the Series. Nimbus Film is producing for DR and SVT, and co-producing with the Copenhagen Film Fund and Film i Skåne, as well as ZDF, NRK, Lumière, and the Ystad-Österlen Film Fund. Season 3 will be directed by Sweden’s Henrik Georgsson, and Rumle Hammerich from Denmark.  The writers will be the original team, with Hans Rosenfeldt as lead writer, Camilla Ahlgren as script editor, and Nikolaj Scherfig, Astrid Øye, and Sweden’s Erik Ahrnbom as co-writers.
