The trailer for one of the first projects Copenhagen Film Fund invested in is here (see it below this text). The thrillerseries “The Team” (“Mord uden grænser” in Danish) starring Lars Mikkelsen in a leading part will be the big Sunday series of the spring on DR, when it premieres February 22 at 8 o’clock and the following seven Sundays.

”The Team” is a multi-language crimeseries with European financing but Copenhagen Film Fund played a part in making it even more Danish with its investment of 2,5 million kroner in 2013. The fund’s investment meant among other things that recently deceased Kathrine Windfeld, who was the conceptualizing director, and Kasper Gaardsøe directed the eight episodes. The investment also made it possible to shoot in the Copenhagen metropolitan area thus creating jobs. Peter Thorsboe and Maibritt Brostrøm has written the series.

The original title was ”The Team” but Danish DR took a liking to the series and gave it a Danish title “Mord uden grænser” (“Murder Without Borders”). It revolves around a so-called JIT (Joint Investigation Team), which is a trans-European investigation unit that operates fast and without bureaucracy across European borders with authorization to lead investigations.

That is needed when a woman is found murdered in Copenhagen shot through the left eye and with a severed finger. A few hours later, two other women are found in Berlin and Antwerp shot through the left eye and with severed fingers. The team consisting of Harald Bjørn (Lars Mikkelsen), Jackie Mueller (Jasmin Great from Germany) and Alicia Verbeek (Verle Baetens from Belgium) takes action!
