About The Fund
THE FUND IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS
THIS IS US
Copenhagen and its surrounding area have everything that is needed to become a European film capital; a beautiful and diverse setting, a film business with world class technicians and facilities, a strong infrastructure, a high level of service, and right now some of the best directors, screenwriters and directors of photography in the world. All this needs to be made use of.
For this reason, Copenhagen Film Fund was founded in 2013, as a result of an initiative from the Producers Association and a collaboration between what were then eight Copenhagen Municipalities, the Capital Region, and a number of players working in the film business. In the period 2013-2017, the Fund invested € 7.9 mio. in 30 productions, and in 2018 the Fund was granted € 1.7 mio. to invest in larger Danish and international film and TV productions.
Copenhagen Film Fund’s focal point is not just the Copenhagen area, but the whole Capital Region, and more municipalities are signing up. The Fund’s prime purpose is to invest in international and Danish film and TV productions, to be produced in our member municipalities, and distributed both nationally and internationally.
Our money is allotted as investment capital. It is our task to create growth and jobs in the film business and its ancillary businesses, with the obvious and commendable benefit of promoting Copenhagen and Danish Film Production in the rest of the world.
We invest primarily in international productions of high artistic merit with Danish co-producers, but Danish projects with international distribution in place can also qualify. Our focus is on productions shot within the region.
We look forward to hearing from you!
