"In addition to investing in major Danish and international productions, one of the fund's main objectives is to facilitate exchange of knowledge and experience between Danish and foreign film and television production, and the fact that we've got four prominent television names to Copenhagen, can be a great source of inspiration for many in the local industry."
Daniel Zelman, Sarah Treem, Warren Littlefield and Jay Carson will all be guests of honor at Copenhagen TV Festival's opening reception at the home of the US ambassador Rufus Gifford. Here more than 500 guests from the Danish film and television industry will be present at an Open Air screening of The Affair and a picnic.
The Producers' Association is the main organizer of Copenhagen TV Festival.
The talent behind Bloodline, House of Cards, Fargo and The Affair
Screenwriter Daniel Zelman is one of three creators of the acclaimed and popular Netflix series Bloodline, which just released a third season this summer. At Copenhagen TV Festival and Copenhagen TV Series Masterclasses he will elaborate on how the series is created and how the collaboration between himself and the two other co-creators, the brothers Kessler, works.
Sarah Treem is the creator of the blockbuster The Affair. She has both written several of the episodes and been showrunner on the production. She has also been producer on House of Cards and written the script for several episodes. She also gives sessions at both Copenhagen TV Series Masterclasses and Copenhagen TV Festival.
Executive producer Warren Littlefield is the man, who got the idea of creating a TV-series out of the Coen brothers' successful film Fargo. He was Entertainment President for NBC in the 90s, where the channel bought and broadcasted popular TV-series like Friends, Will & Grace and ER. Both at Copenhagen TV Festival and Copenhagen TV Series Masterclasses he will share his experience with realizing Fargo, one of recent years' most acclaimed and successful American TV-series.
Last but not least the festival presents the American political adviser Jay Carson, who has been the guarantor of the political plots and twists on House of Cards on all four seasons. As a political senior adviser in Washington through many years, he has previously worked on Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign in 2008 and was communications director for Bill Clinton. At Copenhagen TV-Festival US Ambassador Rufus Gifford will interview him about his work on House of Cards. In private he is married Sarah Treem.
All four are invited to Denmark by Copenhagen TV Festival in collaboration with Copenhagen Film Fund to inspire and strengthen the relationship between the Danish and international television industry.
