This summer Jane Campion will release the long-awaited season 2 of the BBC hit series "Top of The Lake".
In collaboration with Copenhagen TV Festival, Copenhagen Film Fund has invited the Australian director to Copenhagen to participate in Copenhagen TV Series Masterclasses on August 16th.
Participants of the masterclass are invited to an exclusive Nordic sneak-premiere on the seven-episodes-long second season "Top of The Lake: China Girl" followed by a three-hour session, where Jane Campion talks about the creation and her experience with making productions of this caliber.
An award winning screenwriter
It has been four years since we saw actor Elisabeth Moss as the truth-seeking detective, Robin Griffin in the first season of "Top of The Lake". In season two we are presented with the new character played by world renouned actress Nicole Kidman and Danish David Dencik.
Jane Campion had her international break through in 1993 with the critically acclaimed film classic "The Piano", which won her an Oscar and The Golden Palms in Cannes.
Jane Campion is the first of two international tv-series creators, who are invited to present at this year's Copenhagen TV Series Masterclasses. The second name will be announced next week.
Copenhagen TV Series Masterclasses
Copenhagen Film Fund initiated Copenhagen TV Series Master Classes in 2014 in order to encourage talent development and strengthen the Danish tv drama industry's creative talents in their network and knowledge. Not only do the participants meet and learn from each other - they also get an unique opportunity to meet and learn from some of the world's most skilled creatives in their industry.
In the meantime the interest in the concept has grown and has expanded in collaboration with Copenhagen TV Festival, which today includes participants from all the Nordic countries.
Copenhagen TV Series Masterclasses is an exclusive event. 150 writers, dirctors, producers and broadcasters participate in two masterclasses with internationally acclaimed creatives within tv drama production.
Selected students from The Danish Film School, Super16, SDU's script line and 18 Frames are also granted access.
